Hi!

Some days ago I watched the Joe Rogan opdcast https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pwaWilO_Pig about night dream. With the scienist Matthew Walker.

One of interesting thing in the video is about light. What people, who use mutch light before bedtime, they speel not good.
And people, who don't use much light before sleep, or absolute don't use light before 2 hours bedtime, they sleep better.
That is, light 2 hours before sleep harms sleep.

It interesting video. If you have some problem with sleep, I offer you to watch it ;)

And I tested it. I tryed to turn off the light in my room 2 hours before bedtime. Also I switched all used apps of my computer to dark mode.
And I slept better. Before bedtime I wanted to sleep more. And I feel asleep faster.

I want to keep doing this. And offer everybody, who want to sleep better, to try it.

But... Switching modes in all apps to dark mode takes a long time.

Therefore, I propose to do so in chromium was ability to switch to night mode (dark theme) via command line.
Something like:

chromium-browser --dark-mode

And after run this command Chromium will switch a theme and send some trigger (like "switchDarkMode") for exstentions. For abillity extensions like Dark Reader automatically turn on the dark mode.

And I hope, what developers of other applications will take your example (because Chromium is very famouse). And make this function in their apps. And it help many people to sleep better :)

Supporting dark mode in some capacity is in the works. It will require websites to add support, too, but it is a start.
