Hey folks!

A recent change apparently made it so that gerrit links now require an account in order to be able to view CLs.

While I'm sure there were good reasons for making that change, it also bears a cost. Gerrit links are now significantly less shareable with the broader public, as most people don't have (and don't want to create) gerrit accounts.

I don't know if the above was considered when the decision was made. In case it wasn't, I'd appreciate it if the decision was reconsidered.

Cheers :)
Yoav

I can still open Gerrit links in an Incognito window where I'm definitely not signed into anything.

I think when you have stale login data in your browser session, opening a Gerrit link triggers re-authentication. Perhaps that's what you're seeing?

Hmm, I can indeed open gerrit links in incognito without creating a gerrit account, but not in a profile where I have a google account..

Picking an arbitrary CL, I can view this in an incognito window where I'm not logged into Google at all, and when I'm logged into Google with an account that (AFAIK) probably doesn't have a Gerrit account. If you don't get the same results, you might file a bug and get someone to look into it.

OK, I'm glad this is not intentional. I'll file a bug.
