It looks like Chromium includes the Public Suffix List as net/base/registry_controlled_domains/effective_tld_names.dat

From what I can tell, that file was last updated in Feb 2020, 6 months ago. How often is that file updated?

I am trying to understand when the most recent PSL changes will be available in Chromium & Chrome.

The history shows an inconsistent interval, but not fewer than a few times per year -

Correct, it's currently updated somewhat intermittently and manually.

This isn't seen as a significant concern, as discussed on the upstream Public Suffix list at https://github.com/publicsuffix/list/wiki/Guidelines#appropriate-expectations-on-derivative-propagation-use-or-inclusion where, by very nature of the PSL and how it's integrated into products (e.g. as part of operating systems or software libraries/dependencies), there should be low expectation as to when a domain will appear on the list. Safely and interoperably, the timeframe often communicated is between 6 - 18 months for new additions to propagate through, and longer for removals.
