I am getting this message on PageSpeed tool after optimising the website:

The Chrome User Experience Report does not have sufficient real-world speed data for this page.

The domain isn't new and also have good traffic. Earlier this data used to appear but after optimisation it started showing the above message.

Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Hi,

More info would be helpful to diagnose what's happening in your specific case. Are you able to share the URL?

Generally, if the traffic fluctuates, it's possible for the site/page to fall just below the popularity threshold and become unavailable. I've also seen sites accidentally add `noindex` directives, which the CrUX dataset uses as a hint to exclude sites/pages from the dataset.

Rick, what is the popularity threshold?

Hi Rick,

Thank you for the help!
Website URL is dreamcast.in

FYI, was getting the same traffic before optimizing the website and even now there is no difference in traffic. Earlier, the CVW's status was appearing on PageSpeed tool but now it is saying Not Sufficient Data from past 28 days. Also, website is not restricted by robots. It is open for indexing.

Hi Ben,

Google does not disclose the popularity threshold – from what we’ve seen, it fluctuates.

Best regards,

Ryan

Thanks for sharing the URL. According to the CrUX Dashboard, the origin was in the monthly CrUX dataset as recently as April, so something may have just happened to affect its inclusion. At first glance of the indexability audits in Lighthouse, nothing jumps out as disqualifying it from inclusion. Given that you say there's no difference in traffic, I'm stumped why this origin wouldn't be available in PSI. I'll look into it and if I find anything I can share externally I'll let you know.

Ben, I can confirm that the popularity threshold is not disclosed publicly.

Thank you so much Rick for the help.
I was wondering if this happened due to optimization work? Does this happen in most of the cases?
Let me know if I can help you with more details.

Hi,

I wasn't able to find out anything more about your website. I suspect it may still be related to insufficient traffic. Even if the number of users is relatively stable from your perspective, only a subset of Chrome users (opted into stats collection, etc) are eligible to be counted in CrUX.

Traffic fluctuates, so it's possible that your website will have sufficient data again soon. Keep an eye on your PSI results (or set up something to monitor it like CrUX Dashboard) to see when the data is back online.

The issue that I am facing is related to field data. Its more that a few months I have have fixed most of the issues of core web vitals but its still says that
"Over the previous 28-day collection period, field data shows that this page does not pass the Core Web Vitals assessment."

However the lab data is all set.

Due to this there are more than 2500 poor urls in search console and every time the validation fails for these.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Hi team,

As per my research, It is possible because your site is fresh/new on Google. Google may not have sufficient data to show in the result. Once you get user interaction & activities on your site, you can see Core Web Vital (CWV) data under Page Speed Insight.

Hope this will help!

I think this question is pretty difficult to answer in general.

Note that this score underneath "Diagnose performance issues" is based on lab measurements. How the score is calculated is explained there, so you could focus on individual parts to improve the score.

The Chrome User Experience Report (CrUX), which is what this mailinglist is about, is based on field measurements, from 'real' Chrome users. When these measurements are available, they'd be underneath "Discover what your real users are experiencing".
Ideally, you'd want this field data section to indicate that the 75th percentile of the aggregated measurements for loading (Largest Contentful Paint - LCP), layout shift (Cumulative Layout Shift - CLS), and responsiveness (Interaction to Next Paint - INP) are in the 'good' range. It still talks about First Input Delay (FID) but INP is scheduled to replace it soon, so if you're new to it, focus on INP.

To get there, these may help:
- The lab section in PageSpeed Insights gives specific advice / hints on what to improve. Good starting point, imho.
- The articles on web.dev have additional / broader advice:

Good wishes!
