Hi Team,

I signed up for the EPP via the Google Form ~2 days ago for the AI Challenge.

Despite using Chrome Canary (v143), being signed in with my EPP account, and enabling flags #prompt-api-for-gemini-nano + #optimization-guide-on-device-model, window.ai remains undefined and the "Optimization Guide" component is missing from chrome://components.

Could you please verify if my EPP access is active?

Account email ends in kanishkra...@gmail.com.

Thanks,

Kanishk Raj Choudhary

Hi,

Where did everyone find the outdated tutorials or codes?
The new APIs use static methods to create instances, for example, LanguageModel.create, Summarizer.create,  etc.

Assunto: Re: EPP Access Verification – AI Challenge

Hi Kanishk,

Thanks for reaching out and for participating in the AI Challenge!

Your EPP access should normally activate within 3–5 business days after signing up. However, if you still can’t access `window.ai` or see the Optimization Guide component, please try the following steps:

1. Make sure you’re signed in with your EPP-registered Google account on Chrome Canary.

2. Update Chrome Canary to the latest version (v143 or higher).

3. Re-enable the following experimental flags in
`chrome://flags`:

   `#prompt-api-for-gemini-nano`
   `#optimization-guide-on-device-model`
4. Restart Chrome completely after applying the flags.

5. If the issue persists, please share a short console log (from DevTools → Console) after reloading a page that uses `window.ai`, so our team can verify activation status on your account.

Let us know once you’ve tried that so we can assist further if needed.

Best regards,
Jodan Carvalho

Jodan,

These instructions are outdated. Also, just to be sure, 📢 PSA for everyone: "Jodan Carvalho AI Early Preview Program Support" is in no ways affiliated with Google or the EPP.

Kanish, you're likely following outdated AI-generated code samples whose model's knowledge was cut before the new API surfaces Connie mentioned kicked in. Please only follow the official instructions (you can of course try to train your LLM on those).

Cheers,
Tom
