I thought the intent template mentions something about web platform tests...? How did you create this thread?
Are there web platform tests for this feature?
Are the shipping implementations interoperable with Chrome?

Hmm.
I had created this thread manually by referring old threads.. Sorry to miss that part.

Is this feature fully tested by web-platform-tests?
Yes. There are some tests in web-platform-tests/html/semantics/text-level-semantics.

I means - ​Firefox and Edge have shipped <data>. Is their implementation interoperable with the Chrome implementation.
But I understand that you have not started working on the implementation, so you cannot answer that. :)
So after you implement it, the question will be relevant. ;)

Safari also shipped <data>. Shipping it in Chromium is good for interoperability definitely.
