Hi, we have an in house Timekeeper app for scanning in/out for payroll purposes. We want to use Chromeboxes connected to cheap monitors for this project with nothing but a barcode scanner attached.

We have created a Kiosk app, published it, assigned it the the proper OU and set it to start automatically for our device and the station starts the kiosk app just fine. The problem we are having is that the cursor is not focused in the field for the initial scan. If we load the same page in a browser the cursor focus is correct.

I have looked at several published Kiosk apps and the same is true for all of them, the cursor does not appear in any field until you click on that field.

Does anyone know how we could force the app to place focus in the correct field after starting?

Hi Randy,

I've just created https://crbug.com/607270 with your info. If you could, please add some detail as I've requested there. This might be something I need to fix. Could you please post a copy of your app, stripped down to the minimum necessary to trigger your bug.

Thanks,
Alex.

Hi Randy:

We also ran into this problem (https://github.com/zebradog/kiosk/issues/51). We resolved it by manually calling `browser.focus()` in the `contentload` event: https://github.com/zebradog/kiosk/blob/master/src/js/browser.js#L226
