The deprecation was in M37, which reached stable a little over two months ago.

Summary

In Element.idl, make attribute DOMString prefix readonly.

Motivation

The attribute is readonly in the spec:

https://dom.spec.whatwg.org/#element

Ad-hoc testing shows that none of Firefox, IE or Presto support the setter:

Usage information from UseCounter

https://www.chromestatus.com/metrics/feature/timeline/popularity/224

The peak value to date is 0.0008%.

Entry on chromestatus.com

None.

Compatibility Risk

Element.prefix has to do with namespaces, so old XML-based Web apps seem most likely to use it. Since IE doesn't support the setter that doesn't seem very likely.
