TAG review: https://github.com/w3ctag/design-reviews/issues/305

A TAG member made a feedback, and we incorporated it into the specification.

The 'formdata' event enables any objects to provide form data. It helps avoid creating <input type=hidden> representing application state. https://groups.google.com/a/chromium.org/d/msg/blink-dev/IIV1MfaPHYc/l0lsJ-agBQAJ
The risk is low. This is a small new feature, and other browser vendors are supportive. Firefox: In development (See dependencies of Bug 158442) Edge: No public signals Safari: Public support Web developers: Positive (e.g. 2018-03-05 web components F2F minutes)
Yes Yes * Some tests in https://wpt.fyi/results/html/semantics/forms/form-submission-0 https://wpt.fyi/results/xhr/formdata.htm https://bugs.chromium.org/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=825684 https://chromestatus.com/features/5662230242656256
