Smith MathCounts Club,

This email includes the answers to recent MathCounts Problem Sets you have been working on for the past month.  Sorry for the delay.  Expect one "Answer Key" email per week with the from now on.

Many of the answers that are not in the text of this email are in this year's 2016-17 MathCounts School Handbook (Warmup 1, Warmup 2, etc...).  You can look up the answer yourself in that document (which I have included as an attachment).

Also, since we only have three days of school this week, this is a good week to put in some extra MathCounts training on your own.

Coming competitions where you can show what you've learned:

Tuesday, Nov. 15  AMC8  (given in your normal math class that day)
Note: If you are in a regular Math 6, Math 7, or Math 8 class, your whole class is not scheduled to take the AMC8, but since you are doing MathCounts, maybe you would like to give it a try?  Tell Dr. Blackburn or Ms. Haber at Monday's MathCounts and we will make arrangements for you.

Monday, Dec. 12  MathCounts School Competition
Note: This will be the last day of the MathCounts Club and it's not far away.  Let math problem solving be a focus for you over the next month - build yourself into a math beast.
