Welcome to Written Public Comments for CHCCS

This inbox provides an opportunity for members of the community to submit written public comments to Chapel Hill-Carrboro City Schools (CHCCS). Comments submitted here are intended for public display and become part of the public record (names and email addresses included).

As CHCCS undertakes its current elementary school redistricting process, written public comments provide an opportunity for community members to share perspectives, questions, concerns, and feedback regarding redistricting and other matters related to CHCCS and public education. Comments may address proposed attendance-area changes, the criteria and priorities being considered, potential impacts on students and families, and other aspects of the redistricting process under consideration by the Board of Education from September 2026-January 2027.

Be advised, CHCCS will remove messages that:

Contain information or accounts of identifiable staff members or students, other than that of the writers, who have been made aware that comments submitted here are public record and not confidential.
Contain personal attacks, profanity, vulgar language/images, or sexual content
Advocate for illegal activity
Advocate for partisan political and/or campaign positions
Are anonymous. This forum is similar to speaking to the Board at a public meeting, where speakers are required to state their name.
Are clearly unrelated to CHCCS, the Board of Education or public education in general
