Good evening,
Thank you for receiving public comments. My question is why do we have to have multiple dual language schools in elementary school? Shouldn't we be focused on educating students based on our NC state standards? If we are going to be innovative, can't it be in other ways besides language; such as the arts, STEAM focused, magnet based schools, etc?
I know the Glenwood community is afraid that others can't teach, love and accept their culture. This is simply not true. Change is scary, but ALL children in the CHCCS are our business. Seawell is very diverse, and accepting of all cultures-it always has been. Regardless, we will honor all students in our district, no matter what the decision.
My one last comment is a plea. Please take care of our CHCCS family as schools are closed, positions and lives are being changed. This has already been difficult in theory, so I know it;s going to get worse before it gets better. Thank you for giving your time, efforts, and talents to make CHCCS the best it can be.
