The Chandra science and engineering teams continue to evaluate the state of the HRC electronics, following a successful switch back to the A-side electronics on May 19, 2022. Since swapping to the A-side, three real-time activities have been performed in order to evaluate the state of health of the instrument. The activities involved observations of select calibration targets. The real-time operations were deemed a success.
Analysis of these observations indicate that the HRC science processing electronics are operating as expected. A fourth activity is planned for September, in order to determine whether the HRC can be returned to science operations, within a new and constrained operational paradigm.
