Chandra Announcement: SAOTrace 2.0.6 is now available

An update for SAOTrace (version 2.0.6) is now available. SAOTrace provides a high fidelity raytrace model for the Chandra optics. 

There should be no significant user-visible changes in this release.

Linux: This release supports current Linux x86_64 distributions and provides distribution specific archives and installable packages. A container (Docker or podman) image based on Debian 13 is also available.

MacOS: Support for current versions of MacOS is ongoing. The suggested route is to run SAOTrace as a container under Docker or equivalent.
SAOTrace is supported on the following platforms:

AlmaLinux 8, 9, 10
Debian 11, 12, 13
Fodora 37, 41, 42
Mint 21.3, 22, 22.1, 22.2
RHEL 8.8, 9, 10
RockyLinux 8,9, 10
Ubuntu, 22.04, 24.04, 25.04, 25.10
