Club News
• 💗Volunteer of the Week💗 Sandra Lowe (again) for club arrow fletching. Sandra has been taking batches of arrows home, and a fletching jig, repairing club arrows for several weeks now. This Saturday saw her return with 10 sets of arrows repaired, and taking another set to do! We love you Sandra! Thanks again! Without volunteers like this, our club wouldn’t survive! 👏💓🪶
• Help Wanted Due to work commitments, ChrisK needs to step back from organising the Saturday club-level comps. Anyone willing to lend a hand to take this on? 🏹🎯
• Gentle reminder: Our club’s AGM is a little under 6 months away. At which point, David (Secretary) will be standing down to take a break. This is also to get new blood & new ideas into the club, and to reduce the dependency that develops when someone holds a position for too long. The Secretary role is a fairly big job, hence starting the work of finding a replacement. David’s not going away, just stepping back off the committee as he promised. He’ll be (a)round! 🗳
• Notes from the last management committee meeting: 📓
◦ Members under 18 don’t require an adult to go to the toilets.🧒🆏
◦ The club house door is still to remain closed for now. 🔐
◦ We will be getting 5 new barebows for the member hire gear. 3 x 20lbs & 2 x 22lbs. 🏹
◦ Darren Johnston will be assisting/taking over from Don as our treasurer (to be sorted out). 🤑
• Come & Try time changes: As of May, the Come & Try classes will move to 9am to Noon. Coaches arrive for setup at 8am. 🛌😪
• Our youth (& parents) have been soaked & chilled down in Launceston for the Youth Nationals over the last few days. It’s still underway till Monday evening. They have all been making us all proud. Currently they are in the Matchplay stage. Performances so far:
Ellen, Izach, & Liezel: 🥇🥇 (each!); Sanne: 🥇🥈; Ruth: 🥈🥉; Ben: 🥉& 5th;
Ryan: 5th & 5th; Nate: 6th & 8th
Results: 900, Field, 720 & Matchplay
• The next L1 Archery Coach course is Jun 27th. If you want to do it, talk to us ASAP to prep. 🎓
• Please welcome our newest, fully approved club members: 👏👏
(U18) William Woodrow & (Open) Diane Cousineau
Etiquette
If at the end of the shooting session, there is still an unaccompanied child at the club, and you're the second last adult left. Please stick around, especially if asked to, so that there is reasonable corroboration and to help ensure that nothing untoward has or will happen. Blue Cards are not magical shields.
Parents, please remember to pick your lil’ precious before the published closing time.
Note: Nothing like that has ever happened at the club, nor do we think it’s likely it might. Just taking that extra step to keep all of our club members safe.

Tip of the Week
💪 Specific Physical Training 💪
Anytime is a good time to grab that therapy band & exercise equipment out of storage to do some SPTs. Not only will it work off some of those extra calories you just happened to find under a rabbit, but it will help keep your fine archery form that you’ve worked so hard to develop over the years.
Safety Tip
🎯🏹 Director of Shooting (DOS) 🦘🔔
You know them as “The person with the whistle”, or “Chief Skippy Chaser”. However this job requires more than being able to occasionally count to three (3) and herding kangaroos.
The first step to becoming a DOS at our club is to complete the free self-paced online Club Official training course provided by Archery Australia. Completing this course not only earns you a nice certificate, it improves your archery knowledge, & most importantly helps keep yourself & fellow archers safe. Thus it is open to, available to, and recommended to all of our archers.
