“Alternative” Archery Facts

How to assess your Archery “problem” using only bag type/location:

  1. No gear bag; hire only.

  2. The boxes it arrived in.

  3. An archery specific bag.

  4. The new bag is larger & has wheels.

  5. You can drive your archery bag.

  6. Your address is the club’s.

Tip of the Week

🪮♨ Don’t get to bent out of shape 🪮♨

Have you bent or wrinkled one of your plastic arrow vanes/fletches? The fix is really easy.

Plastic vanes/fletches are typically made from TPU. This stuff is fairly amazing. It can take a whole lot of wear and tear. It also has another trick up its sleeve, which is it remembers what shape it was moulded into. If you apply some low heat (think: steam, a hairdryer on low, or boiling water) it will try to go back to its original shape. With a little more help it will go back to being straight. Don’t try this trick with real feathers or spin-wings though.

Safety Tip

✏✒🛂 All one form, or None for All 😭🚫💸

Signing into the club when you first arrive is a requirement. It’s not just something you should do later. It is important that you, and your fellow archers do this. It affects everyone at the club. If you forget to sign in, you might think, “sure, I won’t be covered by Archery Australia’s insurance; I’m a good archer, I’m not going to hurt myself or someone else”. That may be true, but if any archer at the club gets injured and even a single archer has not signed in, the insurance company can refuse to cover us all. I.e. Your decision not to is not only selfish but can affect everyone else negatively & significantly.

Note for New Members: You must sign in even if you don’t have an Archery Australia number yet. No excuses. Just sign in with a number of ‘0’ (Zero) until you get it.
