A custom Personal Archery Target Butt (650mm x 640mm x 200mm) for sale by the club. $200 Available for inspection in the Green Titan Shed (ie. compound target) at the club. See David.
Club News
• Volunteer of the Week: Martin Lau. We almost never see Martin at the club, sadly. But his efforts & work are of huge importance. Martin does all the rostering for who opens & closes the club; who is on the coaching lanes; which instructors are holding the Come & Try class; & handles all the reminders and attendance sheets for the Come & Try classes too. Trust me, it’s a huge job and pretty thankless too. So, hopefully, we will see him at the Xmas Party or … he could shoot his bow some time. When you see him, pat him on the back, please! 👏👏
• New Tap - We have had a new tap installed down at the field. This is so we can connect up hoses to pressurised water. Eg. For pressure washing concrete etc, watering grass, and … a cool misting system for those hot hot summer days! 🚰

A little appreciation goes a long way
Most weekends, several club members donate about 4 hours of their archery day to help generate most of the club’s income & membership. Their efforts significantly help us keep your membership & shooting fees down to reasonable levels.
They are our club’s instructors:
Rob, Sandy, MarkK, Lindsay, Pierre, Michael, Alex R, Bron, David, Scott, Sal, Bec, AlexF, AlexH, Dale, Joslyn, Hayden, Heming, Kate, Patrick, Peter, Shane, & Victor.
Chances are one of them taught you archery! Please give them a big “Thanks!” when you see them. If you have been flinging arrows for over 12 months, and would like to help out & join their ranks, let someone on the committee know.

The Compound Bow was only invented in 1966; because any earlier, as bowyers correctly feared, they would have been charged with Witchcraft.

The club has a page on our website for all of the club’s calendar/event information. On the website, you can see an entire year-at-a-glance view, or just what is coming up in the next few weeks, or better still, you can subscribe to the club’s electronic calendar so they automatically update & show in your own electronic device’s calendar (outlook, iphone/ipad, gmail/android).

As the months get cooler in Brisbane, often the wind picks up too. These winds frequently cause large limbs from the trees to weaken & come down. You’d be wise not to park directly next to or under the large gum trees in the club’s parking area.
