Club News
• Volunteer of the Week: Alana Jenkins - On Saturday, her very first visit to the club as a member, Alana brought down some huge & delicious home-made 🧁chocolate muffins🧁 to share! She has set the new gold-standard for new member contributions to the club. Not to be out done, Jane Clarke also brought some cake as well for everyone too. Sorry Jane, the muffins were just better! Gauntlets have officially been thrown. Bring it on Bakers! 🎂🧁
• 💧Water💧- Still no drinkable water at the club house. Looks like we need to replace the pump. We will be getting all the water tanks re-filled this week too! 🚰
• As noted above - The club has rented out the upper archery field to the Bhutanese Society so they can play the traditional sport of Khuru (Wikipedia). They are expecting a large number of people to show up, and we have advised them to not park in our car park, which is already max’ed out on Saturday Mornings. They will be using the toilets in the club house all day, so it will be extra busy up there. As they should be parking on the street(s), please take extra care when driving to or from the club. 🚗🚗🏔➴⛰🚗🚗🚽
• Please welcome our newest, fully approved club members: 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
(U14) Kera Frawley, Isabella Jagannath,
(Open) Nick Frawley, Daniel Jagannath, 🧁Alana Jenkins🧁, Chesney Wilcox, Brad & Casey Patterson
Club Records

Etiquette
When calling (scoring) arrow values, the convention is to start with the archer’s highest scoring arrow, working your way down in order, to their lowest scoring arrow.
When scoring for a group of archers, we score left to right. I.e. Leftmost archer first.
“Alternative” Archery Facts
One of the many hard things about Horse Bow archery is keeping your horse inside your 90cm wide lane allotment.
Tip of the Week.
🎯📲🔬 Archery Apps 🎯📲🔬
“The difference between Science & mucking around is writing it down!”
If you’re looking for a way to improve your archery abilities, one way is to score and record all the ends that you shoot. Scoring your ends helps you focus on improving, and helps track & compare your progress.
There are a plethora of archery apps available on modern phones, but the most recommended by club members are: MyTargets Archery (Android) & Archery Scoresheets (iPhone). Both are free. They offer the ability to record bow & arrow settings, weather conditions, annotate & add photos to ends, and provide useful statistics & graphs of your progress, etc.
Safety Tip
✏✒🛂 All one form, or None for All 😭🚫💸
Signing into the club when you first arrive is a requirement. It’s not just something you should do later. It is important that you, and your fellow archers do this. It affects everyone at the club. If you forget to sign in, you might think, “sure, I won’t be covered by Archery Australia’s insurance; I’m a good archer, I’m not going to hurt myself or someone else”. That may be true, but if any archer at the club gets injured and even a single archer has not signed in, the insurance company can refuse to cover us all. I.e. Your decision not to is not only selfish but can affect everyone else negatively & significantly.
Note for New Members: You must sign in even if you don’t have an Archery Australia card or number yet. No excuses. Just sign in with a number of ‘0’ (Zero) until you get it.
