Etiquette

Got a technical skill, job, or access to equipment and some spare time? Consider letting the committee know & loan that ability to the club. We often have a number of things around the club that need doing. We would much rather have someone we know donate (or potentially, be paid for) some of the things, tasks, & services the club needs.

E.g. Are you (or your partner) an Electrician/Plumber/Painter/Auditor/Surveyor/Crane driver/Webmaster/Artist/Building Certifier/Journalist/Locksmith/Advertiser/Concreter/Sign Writer/Welder/etc.? If so, we can probably use your talents.

“Alternative” Archery Facts

If you leave your arrows undisturbed buried in the ground long enough, they will eventually grow & multiply. Note: Your experience may will vary.

Tip of the Week

🔀 The plot twists unravel… 🔀

Check that your brace height is still the same as when you recorded it last. (You have documented it, right?)  Recurve & Longbow strings have a nasty habit of changing their number of twists when you string & unstring your bow. Just a few twists can significantly change your bow’s characteristics and change where your arrows land.

Safety Tip

🎯🏹 Director of Shooting (DOS) 🦘🔔

You know them as “The person with the whistle”, or “Chief Skippy Chaser”. However this job requires more than being able to occasionally count to three (3) and herding kangaroos.

The first step to becoming a DOS at our club is to complete the free self-paced online Club Official training course provided by Archery Australia. Completing this course not only earns you a nice certificate, it improves your archery knowledge, & most importantly helps keep yourself & fellow archers safe. Thus it is open to, available to, and recommended to all of our archers.
