Hello CAC Club Members,
On Sunday the 25th of May, Centenary Archers Club will be attending the Darra Community Festival in Darra’s Ducie Street Park. We will be attending to promote the club and to give people a taste of archery with our fun hover range. This is a great opportunity to showcase the club and all that we do for our members and the community.
If you haven’t seen it before, the hover range is archery’s version of a bouncy castle, except, you don’t climb on to it and jump around. Rather, you shoot arrows that look like large microphones at balls that magically hover in the air. It’s a very fun activity and a very BIG draw at events such as this.
While we have a number of people who have already said they would donate their time, we still do need a few additional volunteers to make it a success. The festival runs from 11:00 AM until 4:00 PM. We’ll need one or two people to assist with set up (we have a volunteer to bring all the gear) but he could use a hand in getting it ready to go. Also, during the event, we’ll need a few people to help run the range. This involves showing people the very basics of shooting an arrow, collecting those arrows and putting the balls back in the middle of the air. It is all very straightforward but I’m happy to discuss with any volunteers. In addition to running the range, it would be good to have a few people around that can mingle with the visitors and tell them about the club, Come & Try’s, the fun events we organize (X-mas party, club shoots, etc) and to celebrate the successes our club members have had at club, state, national, and international events.
Normally, I would be help with bump in and with the running of the range but I will be at a judges course that weekend. I will, however, be there to help pack up and to cart everything away at the end of the event.
If you can help us, that will be greatly appreciated. Please reach out to me at the club on Monday’s and Thursday’s (I’ll be in Lismore with my daughters next weekend), give me a ring or email me. My contact details are in my signature. If you can’t reach me, please reach out to a committee member, they will let me know and I can get back to you.
Looking forward to seeing you at the festival!

Hello CAC Club Members,
This email is for all the club members who have indicated they will be able to help out at the Darra Festival this Sunday. Well….it’s also for those members who haven’t indicated yet but would still like to help!
If you could let me know approximate times that you can be there, that will be appreciated so that I can make sure we are covered. Please send me a message on be...@centenaryarchers.org.au or through my Whatsapp or a text message (you can find me through 0422154484).
I’ve had one volunteer to bring the hover range and a few items to the Darra Festival and I’ll be there towards the end of the event and will cart everything away. In between, we’ll need a few people to run the hover range and to mingle with the crowds to talk about the club, where we are, what we do (archery!), and to promote our archers attending all sorts of events locally, regionally, nationally, and internationally.
The event runs from 11 to 4, this Sunday May 25th, in Darra’s Ducie Street Park.
If you have any questions about this (how you can help, what you would need to do, etc) please contact me.
Hello CAC Club Members,
If anyone has a small generator that the club can use on Sunday to power the “hover range” at the Darra Festival please let someone from the committee know. The one we were going to use seems to have sprung a leak and may not be safe to use.
It doesn’t have to be big.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
