All,
On October 28, 2024, the CCADB will be updated to introduce multiple changes for managing policy documents in the CCADB.
CA Owners will not be able to use the CCADB from October 28, 2024 at 3:00 UTC until October 29, 2024 at 3:00 UTC.
The new functionality should:
+ Enable CA Owners to manage Self-Assessments, TSPS, and PKI Disclosure Statements (in addition to CP, CPS, and CP/CPSs) in a “Non-Audit Documents” tab within the ‘Add/Update Root Request’ Case.
+ Rename the “POLICY DOCUMENTS” tab in the ‘Add/Update Root Request’ Case to “NON-AUDIT DOCUMENTS” to be more inclusive of different document types.
+ Create new non-audit document records for all existing Self-Assessment values stored on root records.
+ Allow CA Owners to “supersede” existing non-audit documents by specifying a Superseded Date.
+ Present CA Owners with a warning when a policy document (e.g., CP, CPS, CP/CPS) or self-assessment is or will be outdated, where a new document should be provided and the existing document superseded.
+ Present CA Owners with a warning if they try to add a duplicate document record (i.e., a document with the same type, URL, and date values set).
+ Attempt to download and archive all non-audit documents, including policy documents and Self-Assessments on Intermediate Certificate records.
+ Update the ‘All Certificate Information (root and intermediate) in CCADB (CSV)’ report as detailed here.
The previous ‘POLICY DOCUMENTS’ user guide will be replaced with the new ‘NON-AUDIT DOCUMENTS’ user guide. Additionally, the Field Types and Valid Values and Managing Intermediate Certificates pages on ccadb.org will be updated to reflect the changes from this enhancement.
We will send a separate email when the new functionality has been added and the CCADB is available.
Thank you
-Chris, on behalf of the CCADB Steering Committee
