Hello! How're you doing out there, Carlos Gilbert families? We hope you're finding your footing and keeping in touch - from a distance, natch - with friends and family. We're all in this together - simultaneously reading to one kid and helping another with math, juggling responsibilities, checking on neighbors, managing a lot of big feelings... It's bananas. We know!
So down at the bottom of this email we're including some reminder links about resources SFPS has shared. They will not quell your nostalgia for February, but might help today.
And now...!
SUPERINTENDENT'S CHALLENGE - $25,000 in prizes!
SFPS and Superintendent Garcia launched an exciting competition for students, with cash and gift card prizes totaling $25,000. This is to encourage kids to stay sharp and engaged during this strange and challenging time. Plus it looks FUN.
Categories include: one-act play writing; LEGO or building block construction; drawing, painting and collages; poetry; essay-writing - and more! Kids can even make up their own category.
Enter anytime! Winners are chosen throughout the duration of the contest, not just at the end.
No internet? No problem! Bring entries to the district's Grab&Go food distribution locations :)
