Dear members and colleagues, 

Global Action Week for Education (GAWE) 2021 next week! 

On Monday April 26 we will start an important week of action to mobilise more and better financing for education. Activities are being planned around the world to put pressure on governments to protect education budgets and make new commitments to education in 2021 at the Global Partnership for Education Summit and beyond.

To help members to deliver their plans and support the activities of other parts of the movement, please find here the GAWE 2021 CAMPAIGN PACK. (Please note we are initially sharing in English, other languages are forthcoming). 

The campaign pack includes:

  1. Policy statement.

  2. Press release.

  3. Invites and information on the regional and global event.

  4. A social media toolkit.

  5. Key messages.

  6. Visuals.

A few highlights you can look out for during the week include:

  • An online regional policy discussion each day with Ministers of Finance and Education, teachers, youth and civil society and a global event on Friday 30th. 

  • A twitter chat on domestic financing and a youth Instagram takeover (follow GCE and GCE-US accounts for details) GCE Instagram: @campaignforeducation and GCE Twitter: @globaleducation. 

  • Political statements on education financing being developed and delivered to all political parties in Japan, Albania and Norway.

  • The launch of a national One Billion Voices campaign in Colombia.

  • Youth action for One Billion Voices in Spain.

  • The launch of a new Africa domestic financing report.

  • Policy statements and education financing workshops in Jordan, Morocco and Guatemala.
