Took me a bit to figure out but If you have Safari security options set fairly strict you may not be able to get some functions to work in the web UI. I was unable to get playback to to work for alerts or any playback for that matter. I had Safari set to not allow Auto Play for video. You can set this option for individual web sites. To do that follow these steps.
While on your home.camect.com site go to the Safari menu then select "Settings for This Website..." In the window that comes up select the Auto-Play option and set it to "Allow All Autoplay" as I'm the image below. Other options being enabled or or add blockers don't appear to affect things.

Hi Marc,

Thanks for sharing this tip. It will very likely help someone else. I'd suggest editing the subject though to make it clearer that it's a solution rather than a problem report (to make it more likely others will read it).

Also, this is for Safari under MacOS right? I'm asking because we're aware of one user that has been seeing something like this on his iPhone ... We're reasonably convinced that he has a setting somewhere that has turned off autoplay on his iPhone, but so far have not been able to determine exactly where that setting is. There's one under accessibility/motion but changing that does not help.

I don't appear to be able to edit the subject.

Oh sorry ...  it's not possible to edit the subject. (Looks like even I can't do it.) When I wrote the earlier suggestion, I was looking at an "edit subject" line, but that's only for changing the subject on a new message you're posting.

Confirmed - On IOS Safari, the app doesn’t auto play.

The app does autoplay on iOS Safari for most people, but -- as Marc described above -- if you have set the safari security options to disallow autoplaying videos, you'll have to allow them for home.camect.com to get them to work.  Did his instructions solve the issue for you?

Another similar thing that we've run into is that with safari settings at their defaults, video will not auto-play if your phone is in power-saving mode due to low battery. In that mode, you'll have to tap to get the video to play. After you charge your phone, if restarting the app does not suffice, you may need to enable and then disable low power mode to get it back to autoplaying video.

Low power mode OFF solved it. Thanks
