My Camect Home auto-discovered my H.VIEW HV-E800D, and successfully connected using the camera's default login/password ("admin/12345"!!).

A couple of hours later, I changed the camera's password, you know, for security. The Camect continued to stream video from the camera for a couple of hours, but eventually, it became unable to connect to the camera. (I'm guessing some session timed out, and the Camect failed to reauthenticate, because it didn't have the new password.)

Unfortunately, the Camect won't let me change the camera's password!! In the admin panel, it says "Username and password are configured correctly.", and won't let me change the password. When I click on the eye icon, it shows that it's still using the old, default password ("12345").

Is this a known bug? Pilot error? How do I fix this?

Side comment: you should not lock people out from configuring their systems, even if you think they're about to break something. At most, you should display a warning -- but don't totally lock out your users. If your code has a bug (likely at this early stage in your software development trajectory), the user can still do the correct thing by clicking through the warning. Just sayin'.

Update: I disabled and deleted the camera, then allowed the Camect to (re)discover it, telling me about the "incorrect username/password". I fixed the password configured in the Camect to use the new, non-default camera password, and all is well. The Camect even realized that this camera is the same I had before, and when I clicked on the "bell" icon to find stored alerts, it found the older alerts and footage.

Still, annoying that I couldn't just change the password.
