I have 3 Reolink RCL-511 cameras which work fine on Camect. Now I'm adding a new one model RLC-810A. I can't get it to add/show in Camect. It works fine with the Reolink mobile app

I checked here for the Reolink cameras https://camect.com/which-cameras-work-with-camect/

These are instructions on how to use the VLC Media Player and I can't get it to work in VLC media player either. I get this error

Connection failed:

VLC could not connect to "192.168.145.152:554".

Your input can't be opened:

VLC is unable to open the MRL 'rtsp://admin:MyPas...@192.168.145.152:554/h265Preview_01_main'. Check the log for details.

Can anyone help me with this?

Gerhard,

If you can’t figure it out, I have found ReoLink’s support (sup...@reolink.com) to be very responsive and usually quite accurate with their answers, so I would try reaching out to them.  If their own website’s instructions for VLC don’t work, I’m sure they’ll help you figure it out.

Have you gone into the web interface and enabled the RTSP/ONVIF services? Without that things would not work.

The Reolink cameras will also disable RTSP and ONVIF whenever a firmware update is installed. Re-enabling via the web interface or the application interface will fix that.

Found it. After enabling RTSP/ONVIF it works. Thank you very much for the help!

I think I spoke a bit too soon. I can stream now in VLC Player but still not able to add the camera to Camect.

When trying it just stays at Please wait. Any idea why it won't connect?

Your URL starts with http, but it should start with rtsp://

Actually for type "Reolink" an http url is okay, because we just ignore everything other than the host, port, and authentication info, i.e the Reolink driver constructs the rest.  However, there's probably something about the camera that the Reolink driver doesn't like.

Try the exact rtsp:// URL that works with VLC, but using type "Stream URL" (rather than "Reolink") and it will probably work.

If that doesn't work, use "Report Bug" so we can take a look to see what's failing.

Yes, I could never get my 811A model to work with the Reolink driver and had to use the rtsp scheme as indicated here. the camera also claims ONVIF compliance, but Camect never saw/found it that way.

Using the  Stream URL from VLC works. Thank you for all of the help with this!
