Hi All,

Im using AXIS cameras with Camect and after a spate of break-ins this week - worst being last night - id like to be able to hear an audio warning when a person is detected in my rear garden.

Can this be done and would anyone be willing to talk me through it.

TIA

TIA,

From your Camect Home page you can click on the settings icon> then alerts > then check the box for

“play voice alert” This will expose a drop down allowing you to pick compatible devices that Camect has discovered.

Google Cast.  Chromecast, Google Home and Android TV’s are among those on the list.

You can also leverage the audio output of the Camect.  There is an audio out jack you can run through your own amplifier system.

It is configured right under the “play voice alert” box by checking “Speaker”

The other option is to use the Camect API to pull alerts into a home automation system.  You then would need to have a smart speaker system like Alexa, Google Home, etc.  I have this exact scenario working in Hubitat, but I know Home Assistant also has an integration.  The workflow is Camect API alert -> trigger home automation switch -> announcement via Alexa/Google/etc.
