Good afternoon and Happy New Year!

I am seeing that in the most recent version 2024-11-07, there are new voice alert options. Those options include:
1. Play built-in announcements
2. Text Announcement
3. Prerecorded audio
4. Play nothing

I looked through all of the support documentation for Camect and searched this forum, but could not find any information about how these options work/format they need to be in to be properly set up.

My questions are more specifically around numbers 1 and 2.
  • What is the built in announcement set up to say?
  • For the text announcement, are there tags that need to/can be used when configuring the text string? Tags that allow you to include the camera name or anything like that? Or is it simply just the text string that is entered?
    • If text announcements are just the text string that is entered, how do you configure text announcements per camera? As far as I can tell, I can only configure the voice alerts at the hub level and not at the individual camera level.
Thank for the help!

The built-in announcement is what has been there all along, i.e. it says something like "Camera X saw a Y"

Right now, there are no special tags in the text string. I believe we plan to add that in future.

You can configure a per-camera announcement the same way you change any other alert-related setting to be per-camera ... i.e. near the bottom of the alerts tab, add the camera in the "cameras with own settings" section. Then, when you click on the camera name there, a set of alert options opens below that is specific to the camera you have clicked on.
