Picked up a pair of these for what I thought was a great price, but the app setup process is such an invasive PITA that I'm thinking of returning them after less than 15 minutes with them.

When I try to add them to Camect, I get Incorrect User Name or Password. I haven't SET a username or password because actual access to the hardware is behind the awful EZVIZ app.

These cameras are supposedly supported by Camect and came recommended as a top choice on the camect web page.

Anyone know how to make them work?

The Ezviz app is not the greatest ... The cameras are suggested mainly because they're a good option for the price as they have good WiFi and direct RTSP access.

I don't think you can change the username/password on these cameras. The credentials are on a sticker on the bottom of the camera, or printed on the cameras themselves. Sometime the sticker tells you both the username and password, and on others it just has a "verification code" on the sticker. If you get to the point that the cameras are being detected by Camect, then use username "admin" and the verification code is the password.  You may also need to use the app to turn off the "secure video" option for these to work in Camect.

I would appreciate it if you would put some kind of warning on the Camect Web site about how poor the setup is for these cameras.  These cameras are total trash.  I would not have ordered if I had seen Mike D's message which is several years old.  I have wasted an entire morning - the camera is going in the trash bin now - a waste of $27

It's not your fault but I chose it because I thought it you listed on the site it would be the best and easiest thing to use.

Can you add a bit about the facts of the setup experience that you'd like others to know? (It has been a long time since I set one of these up from scratch. I don't remember hating the app way back then but it was a matter of following their setup process and turning off the "secure video" option before the cameras would work, and you had to use the hardcoded password on the bottom of the camera.)
