Is there an easy way to go back several days or search for footage from a specific date? I tried the mobile app and the web interface and could figure out how to go back several days.

To go back several days on a specific camera, use the second-level timeline rather than zooming far out on the primary one. (See page 4 of the "Learning More about Camect" guide linked from camect.com/welcome). That will quickly take you to roughly where you want to be, and then close the second-level timeline and use the main timeline to fine-tune the time. 

To search by date, use the global alert view (alarm bell button in the top bar). Expand the "filters" section, pick the camera(s) you want, and set a time constraint for the time period that you are interested in.
