I've been using Camect for little over a week or so, it's been fantastic. I have a couple issues though, 1. I don't like the fact that you can't really control your storage. (Like seeing what's recorded, deleting options, file structure, etc), 2. The smart web Android app feels, well.. like a website (which makes sense being limited by nature) and I'd like to see a native app with a more polished UI/UX (ex: tinyCam Pro), 3. I'd like to see settings and options easier to get to (like drawing zones).

I'm really looking forward to the future of Camect.

Thanks Andrew ...

We are working on a UI update which will make it look nicer and more modern, but it's a large undertaking, so expect it to be at least several months before that arrives.

Are there specific things (other than the lack of glitziness of the UI) that you notice when using the PWA vs what you'd expect from a native app?

Also, are there settings and options that you thought were hard to find other than drawing zones? We intentionally left zone-drawing hard to find as we wanted to see if less technical people would be fine with thumbs up/down. We may well choose to revisit that decision as we learn. If you found other things hard to find we'd like to know about them though.

I'm in agreement that the UI needs work. When I told my wife she'd have to move from Hikvisons iVMS to home.camect (new cam isn't Hikvision) she was displeased to with the UI. The individual images look so distorted/pixelated in both large and worse in icon view requiring you to click to expand each, which opens in another page. Here are some comparisons: https://bubba.d.pr/8yEY7q

I would definitely like to see a more user friendly UI.

I would like to not have to deal with other tabs in my browser while looking at video. It starts to become cluttered when clicking different things in Camect.

I agree setting up zones should be a lot easier and not have to dig so deep to set them up.

I would like to be able to make the video full screen. I am not able to do that in the current UI.

I would like to be able to speak through my cameras. I have to go to the native app to be able to do that.

Wonderful news on the UI. I totally understand the under taking, I was merely providing feedback and looking forward to progress. :)

There's a considerable amount of lag between transitions.  Just doesn't feel polished (which is understandable) to the point where you feel like you have complete control over your 'offline' / 'self hosted' solution.  I feel, the whole idea around consumer 'self-hosting', is control.  Right now, in Camect's current consumer state, I feel as though my footage goes into and gets lost into a blue lit box.  (Bring on full NVR control =D )

When it comes to options, I'd like to see 'technical' attributes in an advanced menu.  Leave it things simplified on the surface, but layers of advancement for the power user.
