For many months, we have been warning in our camera FAQ (here) that Google is planning to force all Nest users to use the Google Home app rather than the Nest app by April 2024 -- and that this transition may mean that Nest cameras no longer work with Camect, because we depend on same the interface as the Nest app to be able to connect to Nest cameras.

It appears that Google recently took some steps in this direction, and you will now find that if you need to sign in to Nest through Camect, it no longer works.  We will look to see if there's anything we can do to keep the integration going a little longer, but it currently seems unlikely that we'll resolve it.

So -- next time your Nest authentication expires is likely to be the end of the road as far as using the cameras with Camect.

We originally supported Nest 4+ years ago as a way to give people a way to see what our product could offer without having to also immediately get new cameras. From day 1 we have also suggested that it's worth switching to a non-cloud camera if you're happy with the Camect feature set. Now is the time to consider making that change if you're still using Nest.

Hello, I have a device called a "Starling Home Hub" that has apparently figured all this out - it's capable of allowing my Nest devices to show up in Apple Home. While I realize that this isn't the exact same thing, my point is that there is apparently Goole hasn't truly shut everyone out, and there is a way to accomplish support of *all* Nest cameras (old and new).

Our nest doorbell camera has continued to work in Camect all year... Until just a couple of days ago. Did they just delay the cutoff day or did something change in Camect recently?

Per my original message, this probably means that your nest authentication did not expire until recently. One it expires, it's no longer possible to renew ...
