Camect not reliably alerting Home Assistant

I'm using the Camect integration through HACS in Home Assistant, and it sure seems like Camect is not reliably communicating motion events to HASS.

Does anyone have experience with best practices for integration of Camect to HASS? Experience with this problem?

I've got camect cameras streaming in HASS dashboards, but the following automation just never triggers. (I've also tried this by device IDs instead of entities, with the same results, or rather, lack of them.)
