It powered off today when there was a momentary 'power drop.'  Other network devices stayed connected.

The blue led lights were dark.  I unplugged the power from the back of the device, immediately plugged it back in, and it came back up.

Should I replace the power brick?  Should I be concerned?

Thanks

What do you mean by a "power drop"? Was there an effect you observed (e.g. lights flickering in your home) beyond what happened to Camect?

It is true that the device may turn off and stay off if the output from the power supply drops too low without power failing completely. In the event of a sudden power loss that doesn't include a period of power fluctuation it's supposed to power back on when power is restored. (You can test it by pulling the plug and re-inserting.)

If you own a UPS, the easiest thng may be to plug the Camect into the UPS.

If not, you might be able to increase the resistance to having this happen by using a more powerful power supply. We know at least one person having power supply issues who switched to this one (and apparently uses these regularly in other projects, and says it has been pretty reliable for him). The only caveat about that power supply is that the barrel is a little short for some Camect units. You may need to trim off about 1mm of the plastic connector using an exacto knife. I tested one of these (just to see it myself before recommending it to anyone else) and I can confirm it works fine after trimming it.

I heard the UPS on my iMac started to kink-in -- you can hear it - checked the Cloud Key and it showed it had disconnected at the same time.

I'm going to consider adding a UPS to the network box -- just need to figure out the draw -- POE switch (includes a few POE devices - plus six cameras), Cloud Key, and Gateway - shouldn't require too large an UPS.  Or, just one for Camect.

Thanks
