I have been using Camect for the past few months with no issues.  The other day I logged in and noticed 2 other cams that looked to be partially setup in my system.  One was a Dahua cam and the other is listed as a Nest.

My problem is I do NOT own a Nest or Dahua cam.  So why are these showing up in my system?  I'm unable to remove them as they keep showing up. There is no video from either though.

I've done an Angry IP scan and did not see a NEST or Dahua cam on my network, so what gives?

Thanks

Do you own a Nest thermostat? If so, that's what's being detected as a Nest device. Camect can't tell that it's not a camera unless you sign in. Just disable it and ignore it.

The Dahua one is more unusual, but probably similar ... We could try to help you figure out exactly what it is (and I assume you already see the IP in the UI, so you could check?), but if you're sure it's not a camera, the solution is still to go ahead and disable it and ignore it.

If you'd like more info about what devices Camect is finding on your network, you can go to home settings > devices > add camera > see all devices found on this network  ... There's a search box at the top that may also be useful if you have a large number of devices.

Angry IP is great, but on my network it only found two names for the devices.  I started using "Advanced IP Scanner Portable" and it found LOTS of names, including Dahua cams where my Lorex cams were.   I renamed them to a friendly name and it remembers them on each run.
