The new Home -> Settings -> Sounds feature allows you to import new sound files into Calypso for use in your programs. Presently these must be .ogg files, but it's easy to convert other audio formats to .ogg using online converter services. Just Google a phrase like "convert wav to ogg" or "convert mp3 to ogg" to find web sites such as Zamzar that will do these conversions for free.

Adding custom sounds can make your programs more engaging. You could add sounds such as an alarm clock or telephone or doorbell ringing, or a cartoon style big sloppy kiss, or laser sounds from your favorite science fiction movie.

Another thing the new sound feature lets you do is export sounds from a Calypso program to your User Sounds library. So if someone sends you a Calypso program with a sound you like, you can export it and then use it in new programs you write yourself.

If you have a favorite sound file you like to use with Calypso, consider posting it here so others can try it out.
