Srila Prabhupada teaches a very wonderful lesson

This is very hard to say but, the next morning he was already up very early and
all of us were sleeping. Past 4 o'clock. In the morning for mangala-arati. I
think we rose about 5, 5.30 or something, very late. All of Srila Prabhupada
servants, myself. And Srila Prabhupada when he came in to give the morning
class. He was very, very furious, very like a thunderbolt. He asked me,
"Citsukhananda is this what is going on in your temple? You're waking up late?"
I said "no Srila Prabhupada, no, no. We are always getting up early." He said
"oh." He says "all of you, why you're not getting up early?" He says "this is
not good." He says "you should all be rising for mangala-arati." He says "all
of you are travelling with me and you are not rising. This is not good."

So after the lecture.. Prabhupada gave a very strong lecture. I followed Srila
Prabhupada back to his room. And I said "Srila Prabhupada we are very much
sorry, we are very, very greatly foolish. We are.. We have offended you and now
you're very much angry with us. I feel very bad." Srila Prabhupada said "no,"
he says "I am not angry." "But you seem to be." He says "No, no I am not
angry," he says "I am spiritual master it is my duty to correct you." He says
"but I am not angry. I am very much pleased with all of you. It is simply that
you have not done something which is not right. And as guru I must correct you,
otherwise it's not good. I must help you so in this way I am not at all angry
with anyone." And then I could, for the first time I saw a different type of
character. Someone.. My whole life, my father when he was angry it was out of
passion and oh it was very horrible. But Srila Prabhupada just turned
completely. In his heart there was no anger just simply he was very concerned
that his disciples were not rising up and that their spiritual life would be
spoiled then from not rising. Just so deeply concerned with us.
So I learned something very great that day. And it was a very wonderful lesson.
