Monthly Film Night at BSFS:
On August 20, 2022 at 7:00 PM+ (building opens at 6:00 PM for early folks) this month a double feature of the 1959/1963 parody of the smallest nation on Earths victory over the superpowers of the day. Our license gives us the right to show pro productions, but we are not supposed to advertise on the web but can distribute fliers--so consider this email a flyer… we are screening The Mouse that Roared and The Mouse on the Moon. You may have seen on TV, maybe as a kid, but have you ever seen on a 10 ft screen? With a bunch of fans? Come on down and experience the way the future might have sort of been. BSFS is air conditioned so it is safe during the Baltimore summer.

BSFS’s Tabletop Role-Playing Game Event is on Hiatus in July August and will be back on Discord in September. Anime Social at BSFS:
Returns in person and on Discord on August 27, 2022 from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the BSFS Building. Items to be screened include Yurei Deco episode 1-3 @ 2pm. In the cyber city Tom Sawyer, society revolves around earning “Love” akin to receiving likes on social media. @ 3:30pm, screening Lucifer and the Biscuit Hammer episodes 1-3. Yuuhi is chosen as Beast Knight to save the world from a mage and his giant space mallet. And continuing our long watch with episodes 5-6 of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba’s Train arc. Thursday Night Board Gaming at BSFS:
Will be in-person and continuing on Thursday, 09/01/2022 at 6:30 PM and going to 10:30 PM. First one was shut down by power failure in the building and threat of tornado, so trying again... come on down for a night of in-person SF and Fantasy theme board gaming which will continue on every first Thursday of the month. The Balticon 56 Planning Meeting next held (Not in August) September 24, 2022 at 7:00 PM. Drop by in SEPTEMBER in-person or on Zoom and share your ideas about how to improve the next and future Balticons. (or volunteer) Our con-chair is traveling in August which is why the cancel, however the building will be open 7:00 PM for anyone who wants to show up anyway because even when we announce a canceled Balticon meeting a whole bunch of folks show up anyway as they are so used to being there every second Saturday of the month so we will be open to let folks in...
Writers Circle at BSFS:
BSFS sponsors a Writing Circle 6:30-8:30pm which used to meet in the BSFS Building, but they like Zoom too much since the pandemic started to go back to in-person. Near term this means teleconference only by zoom on 08/11/2022 and 08/25/2022. This is a SF and Fantasy focused writing group. If you write check it out. At least Seven stories work shopped at this writer's circle have been sold to professional markets in the last three years.
