Next held January 15, 2022 (for vaccinated and masked only please) from 7:00pm-10:30 pm. Alphabet Soup:
Our Alphabet Soup Board Gaming event returns December 12, 2021 at the BSFS Building (for vaccinated and masked only please) from 12:00 Noon til 5:00pm Board gaming using the Hal Haag Memorial game collection. This one will occur regardless of if anyone preregisters, however, please email paulo at bsfs dot org and let him know you are coming.
DISCON III 79th WorldCon in Washington DC:
The 79th World Science Fiction Convention will be held December 15-19, 2021 at the Omni Shoreham Hotel in Washington DC. (Please use the Metro to get to the hotel as parking near the hotel will be very tight and you will be happier parking at a metro stop with parking and riding in for the day) Both in person and virtual convention going on at the same time. Anime Social at BSFS:
Next held on January 22, 2022 (Normal date is a Holiday for many) from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Our anime social is usually a day of anime watching and just general hanging out. This month as a discord watch party. Just go to the Discord Server at

Writers Circle at BSFS:
BSFS sponsors a Writing Circle 6:30-8:30pm usually meets every second and fourth Thursday of the month inside the BSFS Building, however, near term this means teleconference only by zoom on 12/23/2021 and 01/13/2022. Participants prefer to stay on zoom for now. This is a SF and Fantasy focused writing group. If you write check it out.
