Hi all,
I have recently set up XMAlab in my new lab at Rowan. My tech is having significant issues with saving and loading projects (ie projects will not load after being saved or will not save, and the program will just freeze). This may be a hardware issue (We are working on a Lenovo workstation) but i was wondering if anyone had had similar issues and identified possible problems (ie file sizes/locations, read/write permission issues).
Thanks in advance,

Hi Francois,

Does this happen sometimes or always? XMALab needs to temporarily extract the data to a tmp directory on your system drive (c:). Are you having enough space on that drive? If it hangs you can also check the tempfolder which it uses (%Appdata%/../local/temp/Xromm_tmp). The folder only exists during loading and saving. If it exists otherwise I would delete it.

Hi Ben,
So I have been playing around more to find out what is going on. I am testing this on two different university computers (this incidentally gives me limited options to drill down through the folder system as I only have partial administrator rights). However I have noticed something odd. The training files (so the minipig chewing data from XMA portal) save and load just fine. It is only my own data (collected from Rebecca German's system at NEOMED) that has this read-write issue. I checked file sizes and they are not different (in fact our calibration images are somewhat smaller yet I cannot load a saved distortion/calibration). This suggests the issue lies in my video/image files (but again this is confusing because my image files are single frames saved as jpegs from imageJ). Sometimes I get an error message saying XMAlab is in an unstable state/Bad allocation.
Any ideas?
Best
Francois
