Hi XMALab and XUG lists,

One user reports that upgrading to Mac OS Sequoia 15.4 has created big problems with XMALab 2.1.0. The user reports:

I am having problems accessing files and folders in XMALab 2.1.0 with the latest iOS update (Sequoia 15.4). This means I cannot start a new dataset as I can't select calibration images, open .xma files that are not already in the Recent Files list when you first open the software and export any data as you can't choose where to save the .csv file. I've identified a similar issue with Horos but MATLAB and Maya seem to be working fine.

If the problem is universal, then this is quite bad news. We knew some Mac or WIN OS update would eventually break XMALab and at the moment there is no active development work on XMALab that would fix it.

If anyone else has upgraded to Sequoia 15.4, please respond to the whole group to let us know whether you are having similar problems.

If you have not upgraded, then I suggest holding off if you need to use XMALab.

If anyone has suggestions for how to fix the problem, that of course would be welcome too! It is possible that there is some disk access permissions issue that could be solved, but the reporting user tried several of those fixes with no success.

Issues confirmed on a second machine that just updated to MacOS 15.4.

File pickers won't open, and XMALab can't be added manually in privacy settings of MacOS to give it full disk access.  It works, except you can't open or save anything.

I'm going to try recompiling it on an M-series mac today (it's been running in emulation on M-series).  No guarantee it'll work though.

Thanks Peter! I had confirmation yesterday that Sequoia 15.3.2 works fine, so the problem is just Sequoia 15.4.
