Welcome to the BriskFyr Users' Group. This post covers how the group works, how to get good answers quickly, and the standards we expect from everyone. It's pinned, so you can come back to it any time.

1. Be respectful

We want this to be a welcoming, professional space for engineers of every background and level of experience. In all interactions here, please:

Be kind and patient, and respect differing opinions, viewpoints, and levels of experience.
Give and accept constructive feedback graciously.
Assume good faith and keep the discussion professional.
The following are not acceptable and may lead to removal from the group:

Personal attacks, insults, trolling, or derogatory comments.
Harassment of any kind, public or private.
Sexualised language or imagery, or unwelcome advances.
Publishing anyone's private information without their permission.
Spam, advertising, or unrelated self-promotion.
If you see behaviour that breaches these guidelines, please email sup...@briskfyr.com. Reports are handled discreetly.

2. How to ask a good question or report a problem

The more context you give, the faster we can help. When something isn't working or a result looks wrong, please include:

What you were trying to do, what actually happened, and what you expected instead.
Steps to reproduce — how you built the model and what you did in the app, so we can follow along.
Screenshots of the model, and any message shown in the run console.
Your browser and operating system (e.g. Chrome on Windows 11).
Because models are built in the app rather than in files, a clear description plus a couple of screenshots is usually the quickest way for us to reproduce what you're seeing.

3. Search before posting

Please check the docs and this group before starting a new thread — a lot of questions are already answered:

  • Existing discussions in this group.

4. Students and coursework

BriskFyr is used in teaching, and students are very welcome here. Please don't post complete homework or assignment problems for others to solve — it defeats the purpose of the exercise and may breach your institution's academic-integrity rules. Focused questions about a concept or a specific sticking point are always fine.

5. How this group is run

The group is public to read and open to members to post — join to take part. It doubles as our free-tier support channel: we read every post and reply as soon as we reasonably can, usually within a few days. There's no guaranteed response time on the free tier, and posts from brand-new members may be held briefly for review before they appear.

For account, billing, or anything private, please email sup...@briskfyr.com rather than posting publicly.

Thanks for helping keep this a useful and friendly place. We're looking forward to seeing what you build.
