Yesterday, we kicked off the 2026 Braver Angels National Convention, 1776 → 2026: A Pledge Renewed, in Philadelphia, the perfect place to begin a week dedicated to courageous citizenship.
As our nation approaches its 250th anniversary, our Opening Plenary looked back at America's founding ideals as a way to look forward, challenging us to consider how we can renew our shared commitment to one another and to our nation today. From there, the Convention continues with conversations, workshops, and experiences focused on strengthening our democracy by bridging divides and building a healthier civic culture.
Convention Co-Chairs Diego Sánchez, of the Presidents' Alliance on Higher Education and Immigration, and Jim Robb, of NumbersUSA, guided the evening, connecting our nation's founding principles with the work of courageous citizenship today. We were also honored to welcome R. Scott Stephenson, President & CEO of the Museum of the American Revolution, and Vince Stango, President & CEO of the National Constitution Center. The evening was enriched by a memorable live reading of the Declaration of Independence by "Benjamin Franklin," portrayed by B.J. Pryor.
