Citizens Commission on Immigration Update

Launched at the BA National Convention in 2024, the Citizens Commission on Immigration (CCI) is demonstrating to Congress and the nation that Americans who differ on immigration can nevertheless find common ground. Learn about what's been happening-- and bring your questions for discussion-- at the upcoming CCI National Update on April 14 at 5pm ET. Join us online by clicking here

Bonus Content: When the Long Island Alliance convened a Common Ground Workshop on Immigration, a team of filmmakers captured their discussions. Watch Alliance Co-Chair Swati Srivastava’s highlight reel (exclusively for members) by clicking here.

The National Update is open to media upon approval. Send requests to pr...@braverangels.org.

National Debate: Voter ID

The SAVE Act has fizzled for now, but that doesn't mean there's nothing more to say about voter ID. Is a government-issued photo ID a common-sense safeguard for the ballot box? Or is it a barrier that risks disenfranchisement of voters? Does requiring ID strengthen our democratic institutions, or does it undermine the principle of one person, one vote? Join us online April 9 at 8pm ET by clicking here, and get ready for arguments for and against Resolved: Require Voter ID.

Bonus Content: Do you have opinions about the way we use the Red/Blue dichotomy at BA? We want to hear them. On May 5th, the Debate Team will host an online national debate on the future of our Red/Blue framework. We need your help choosing a resolution to structure the debate! Please click the poll link to weigh in on the possible resolution statements. Questions? deb...@braverangels.org

Our resolutions never represent Braver Angels' stance on any issue, and

we alternate between speeches for and against the resolution.

A Bridge to BridgeUSA

In 2017, Manu Meel didn’t stand by watching while dialogue broke down on his UC Berkeley campus. He stepped up to rebuild the space for it, founding Braver Network partner BridgeUSA. Since then, he's spread its message to 125 college campuses nationwide. Now Manu is joining our Board of Directors! As Braver Angels looks to grow and diversify our membership, engaging young people is a top priority. We’re thrilled to bring Manu’s wisdom and insights into our journey towards courageous citizenship. You can click here to read more about BridgeUSA’s amazing work.
