"The mess IS the message."
If you’re inspired just by reading that headline, we’re doing something right. Because that’s the message in the relaunch episode of A Braver Way (ABW), the bold and moving podcast hosted by the inimitable Mónica Guzmán, author of I Never Thought of It That Way: How to Have Fearlessly Curious Conversations in Dangerously Divided Times. On pause for the last 18 months or so, ABW is back-- and it may be better than ever. In the first episode, Móni (Blue) and her longtime (Red) collaborator, April Lawson (co-founder of our Debates program), pick up where they left off in November 2024. Is it easy? Look again at our headline! Click here to subscribe, here to listen, or here to watch the relaunch of A Braver Way.

Debating Christianity and Politics
The place of faith in the public square is a recurring point of both legal and social friction in the U.S. As a result, the question of whether Christian practices belong in US government has become one of the defining debates of our time. If you missed our debate on this issue, you can catch it by clicking here. Debate has a big role at the Convention next month, so use this as your warmup, your refresher, or your first look!

Convention Teaser: Braver Film
In Philly next month we’ll be screening six films that we believe exemplify Courageous Citizenship– prime opportunities for inspiration and reflection. Creede U.S.A. and Homegrown are stories of citizens striving to build together across differences for a better America. 9/11: Reclaiming Ground Zero and Goodbye Politicians. Hello Democracy. provide examples of radical democratic processes and the systems that can help make our civic life more productive. And we’re premiering It's All the Rage and A House United-- new documentaries that feature Braver Angels leaders and showcase the stories of folks working together to bridge divides across the country. Many of the screenings will have filmmakers and participants on hand for Q&A, so get ready to walk the red (and the blue!) carpet and be inspired by what you see.

WHAT SHE SAID
“I don’t think it’s a good long-term strategy to walk away. We’re more likely to overcome our divisions if we turn toward each other.”
