Elaine Sims is out of commission

Morning all,

My daughter Elaine has asked me to let you know that she will be out of commission for a while concerning her GEL position and new chapter treasurer work. On Tuesday she was badly burned in a kitchen accident. She has 1st and 2nd degree burns on her hands, arms, and chest from steam and hot water when canning. Fortunately it did not hit her face. She is in the Vanderbilt Burn Center in Nashville. It is 4 hours from home so the family won't be able to visit often. 

It is unknown at this time how long she will be in the hospital. Her daughter Samantha (Alice & Jackalope CC30) has set up a Go Fund Me account for her.(https://gofund.me/482e44fc). She is a self employed accountant and runs a small farm that depends on the farmers markets they part take in.

Thank goodness her neck & face were spared.  I don't know if she watches much TV,  I was able to stream my cable, or other services from home which kept me sane for 7.5 months in the hospital & rehab in 2023.  I was in isolation so barely  any visitors.

I shared the gofundme post.

Good news! I was discharged yesterday and am now home with the chaos of the sheep that won't stay in their pasture. I've still got a long way to go, healing wise, but at least I'm home now!

I am SO SO happy that you are home! It's always better for recovering to be in your happy place (I call my house the Center of the Universe @tm). So much easier to be relaxed, take a shower when you want, etc. instead of having to let a nurse or an aide know.
