Corresponding Secretary Email Report __ Oct 2025 and before

Over 2,200 emails in the email box going from December 2020 to present day:

Generally, this is what’s in the Corresponding Secretary’s email box.

Estimated 1,800 are pre-2024:
__ Maryland Nonprofits SPAM
__ Nonprofits Learning SPAM
__ Occasional Zoom auto-generated email
__ Some SPAM sprinkles of surveys, free sample stretch fabric, grants, Anime Central, blah, blah blah

There is a theme here:    SPAM, SPAM, SPAM, SPAM …….

However, since ICG is incorporated in Maryland, I’m reluctant to cut off the flow from Maryland Nonprofits. But much of the Maryland e-mail has titles like:
__ “Build a Stronger Board: Governance Training for Staffed Nonprofits”
__ “Staff Supervion[sic], Train the Trainers & Trauma Informed Practices”
__ “Weekly Member Update: Workplace Safety Protocols”
__ etc, etc …
These are clearly topics that are for nonprofits that have paid staff and organizational structure that ICG does not have.  But I can list the topics every month and check them out in case there is something applicable to ICG, or Maryland changes a law related to nonprofits, etc.  How has ICG dealt with this stuff in the past?


There are also automated Zoom emails, but I have not lined them up to see if they are the same as the ones arriving in the Recording Secretary’s email, but there don’t seem to be as many of them as in the Recording Secretary’s e-mail.

This stuff goes back to Dec 2020. I think this e-mail box needs to be cleaned, but I thought I’d mention it before deleting anything

And there are 3 March 2025 inquiries that I haven’t heard there was any follow up for; one spam one that wants to buy costume.org, a costume design student asking about joining ICG and an inquiry about donating costumes.  Were these ever followed up on?

And I owe Phil Gust a Corresponding Secretary’s report.

__ An inquiry about cosplay and mental health for a grant application from an Evan Walsh – this pre-dates my my time as Corresponding Secretary, so I don’t know what kind of answer we would have for this.
__ Multiple emails from a Ben Clarke, Co-Founder -- Advertising Grant Team about out ‘google grant’. No idea what this is.
__ One line message from a okanandu favour about names being shortlisted. No idea.

__ Feb 3, 2025: Message from “Kevin Doheny, Masquerade Co-Chair, MarsCon” asking about masquerade judge score sheets. Was this followed up on?
__ Feb 8, 2025: Texas inquiry about forming an ICG chapter. Kevin Roche answered it right away.  Was it forwarded?  Or does Kevin automatically get the Corresponding Secretary’s email forwarded?

Mar 2025:

__ Mar 8, 2025: Inquiry from a Steven Kelly – flippa.com about selling costume.org. No followup.
__ Mar 3, 2025: Inquiry from U. of Oregon costume design student about joining ICG. No followup.
__ Mar 29, 2025: inquiry from Alice Lewis about donating costumes to ICG, “My mother (Suford Lewis) and I have come across several costumes that Ann Chancellor (https://fancyclopedia.org/Ann_Chancellor) left with my mother before Ann passed.” No followup.

April 2025:

__ April 11, 2025 request from Phil Gust about a written Corresponding Secretary’s report. No response.
