Necessity to make an ICG Board Appointment

Anne Davenport has let me know that she cannot continue in her dual role as Corresponding and Recording Secretary. She will handle the August check-in, but wants to quickly transition to someone else following that.

After conferring with Pierre Pettinger as Parliamentarian, he identified that Article V, Section 1 specifies that the Board may appoint assistant officers at its discretion. The Board may appoint an Assistant Recording/Corresponding Secretary and assign Anne's duties to that person. The position can be specified to last until the next general ICG election.

I am now officially requesting nominees for this role. They do not need to be current ICG officers but they must be ICG members in good standing. 

The deadline for names is August 5, 2026. This is a short timeframe, but Anne would like to guide the new person into the role soon.

One name has already been brought forward: Karen Heim of the St. Louis chapter. She is the current secretary for the SLCh, and has held most of the officer roles for that chapter at one time or another. She has also previously served as the ICG Secretary. Karen has agreed to be nominated.
