Mahala Sweebe of SWCG

Mahala Sweebe passed sometime late Sunday or early this morning. 

She had been fighting rapidly advancing liver cancer. 

Some of you know her as my colleague in Southwest Costumers Guild, but her involvement in Arizona fandom goes way back. She was a staffer on Iguanacon. 

Mahala is survived by her husband Mark and daughter Bethie. 

I will pass along memorial information when I have it.

Please pass the sad news along as it is likely that persons in your individual chapters knew her.

Saw her name on the mailing list for the ICG Newsletter with every issue I mailed.  Sad that I didn't know more about her...

On another note,  Randall, I’ve yet to hear from anyone about John Fong.

Bruce,

I will try to provide a paragraph and photos for Archives and International Costumer sometime after the service. You've likely heard from Paula, who is trying to work out whether Mahala was a member when SWCG first formed. Paula and I both joined later.

I don't have any more ideas regarding information about John right now, but I will be attending a Halloween party tonight where some of the older Arizona fen may be present.
