All,

I received an inquiry about applying for the Marty Gear award from Aurora Celeste. Here is her question:

"My organization wants to apply for the grant, how does it work if it is an organization applying with an ICG member as an organizer of the event."

I have responded, I believe this is accurate:

"The guidelines say that any ICG member or group of members can apply, but that all those who receive a grant must maintain their ICG membership during the grant period. Technically I think that if you as the head of an organization and an ICG member apply for a grant to support an event coordinated by that organization, I think you can. But the grant would go to you, not the organization."

Does anyone disagree with that?

Sounds reasonable.

And much thanks to Karen Heim for being willing to step up as assistant Corresponding Sec'y!

Byron would need to reply to the grant query.

I agree that the grant would go to the applicant member, not their organization. I see no reason why it cannot go to the member "on behalf of _____.” Thats about how we've worded grants intended to support costume-con.

I’ll be happy to try to answer any questions Aurora may have.
